We have iPhones and Android phones in the family. Is that a problem?
Not any more. With Matter devices, the same lights and locks can show up in Apple Home, Google Home and Alexa at once, so everyone uses the app they like.
Do I need a pro system like Control4 or Savant?
Usually only for larger homes, whole-home audio and theatre, or rentals where guests need one simple remote. For most homes a well-built Apple, Google or Alexa setup is plenty, and we will tell you honestly which side of the line you are on.
What happens when the internet goes out?
We favour devices and hubs that run locally, so lights, keypads, locks and most automations keep working. Remote access returns when the connection does. For critical alerts we can add a cellular backup.
Can I switch platforms later?
Yes. Choosing Matter and open standards where possible means your devices aren’t tied to one company.
Are there monthly fees?
Most setups have none. Some cameras, professional alarm monitoring and our optional care plan are subscriptions, and we list them in the quote up front.
